An Update

Yesterday Debbie received a call from our new attorney. He seems to be on the ball. Although he does not do adoptions, he has been a big help. He spoke with the Civil Registry supervisor. She has agreed to begin processing the new birth certificate in 72 hours from Wednesday if she does not hear back from the Ministerio Público telling her she can not. Unfortunately, Friday is a holiday in Guatemala, so we have to wait until Monday or Tuesday to hear the results. Our attorney believes we should have the birth certificate by Friday, August 22. If we pick it up on the Monday after, Debbie and Hannah could be home the second week of September, barring any further drama.

Still praying for all of you. I sure hope this goes as the new attorney says.

That's great news, a light at the end of the tunnel. We will pray that everything works out and you are home in September!
