Department of Homeland Security Error

Approximately 2 months ago we sent a G-884, Request for the Return of Original Documents, to the Department of Homeland Security. They will send us all of the original documents that were in the package we had to hand carry from the US Embassy in Guatemala to Immigration in the US. About one month ago we received a phone call from someone in Kansas that received our packet. They called us and said they were calling the Department of Homeland Security to see if they had to send it back to them or if they could send it to us. We have not heard back from this person. This is a little scary that the Department of Homeland Security can not get address correct and send A LOT of personal information (Social Security Numbers, income, date of birth, entire life history) to someone else.
